Dublin teen killed in two-vehicle crash Sunday
The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Sunday at 7:24 p.m. on Hyland-Croy Road near Johnston Drive, in Jerome Township.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2016 Kia Forte, operated by Claudia Phan, 17, of Dublin, was traveling northbound on Hyland-Croy Road and traveled left of center striking a 2017 Ford Explorer operated by Jason Lyle, 37, of Lewis Center. Both the Kia Forte and Ford Explorer traveled off the right side of the roadway.
Phan was pronounced dead at the scene by the representatives of the Union County Coroner’s office. Lyle was transported by ambulance to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries. A front seat passenger in the Explorer, Ashley Lyle, 34, of Lewis Center, was also transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.
Two juvenile passengers in the Ford Explorer were transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Jerome Township Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire Department, Norwich Township Fire Department and the Union County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
