State patrol names Trooper for the Year for Marysville Post
Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Abdulla S. Ahmed has been selected as the 2025 Trooper of the Year at the Marysville Post.
The selection of Ahmed, 25, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2025 at the Marysville Post. Fellow officers stationed at the Marysville Post chose Ahmed based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.
Ahmed joined the Highway Patrol in 2022 and has served at the Marysville Post throughout his career. Originally from Baghdad, Iraq, Trooper Ahmed immigrated into the United States, gaining citizenship in 2015. Ahmed is a 2018 graduate of Whetstone High School in Columbus and attended Columbus State Community College.
Ahmed has earned the patrol’s health and physical fitness award, traffic safety award, and has also served as a field training officer.
Trooper Ahmed currently resides in Columbus.
