Marysville girls basketball coach Chris Freeman said during the preseason he hoped a relentless defense would lead to transition baskets throughout the campaign.

The Lady Monarchs (2-0) came through with flying colors during Tuesday’s 58-36 home-opening verdict over Olentangy Orange.
