County budget numbers require clarification

What appeared to be a bump in the Union County Auditor’s Office budget was actually a slight clerical error.

The 2026 county budget, approved Wednesday by the county commissioners, showed the auditor’s office jumping from $840,000 to $2 million. That’s not actually the case.
