Wind-blown mayhem Friday
A tree lays across East Fourth Street in Marysville Friday, just west of Vine Street. The downed tree, laying over a car, was just one of a number of high wind-related incidents that swept the county ahead of the weekend. First responders and dispatchers were frantically trying to deal with a huge volume of incidents related to the strong winds Friday afternoon. Officers, troopers and deputies were dealing with numerous semis being blown over, some of the crashes resulting in injuries. Fire crews responded to felled trees reported around the county , many of which took down utility lines. A power pole reportedly snapped and was laying across East Fifth Street behind Taco Bell. Electric lines were believed to have sparked a house fire in Magnetic Springs shortly after 3 p.m., and possibly a second one in the Milford Center area. Grass fires were also reported.
