Day of Prayer held
Local residents gathered at Partners Park in Marysville on Thursday to celebrate National Day of Prayer. About 30 individuals attended the ceremony, which carried the theme “Seeking Him in all generations,” for 75th National Day of Prayer. Pictured above, Marysville City Council Member Scott Hunter reads a proclamation at the event. Observed on the first Thursday of May each year, the day is meant for individuals, communities and leaders to come together in prayer for the nation, covering areas like government, families, schools and peace. Although days of prayer have been proclaimed throughout U.S. history, the modern National Day of Prayer was officially established by Congress in 1952.
