Mill Valley house fire injures one

Marysville police and fire units responded to a residential fire in Mill Valley Tuesday morning.

According to a release from the Marysville Fire Department, first responders were sent to a home in the 1000 block of Mill Park Drive at 7:56 a.m., Tuesday, for a house fire. Upon arrival, they found that one resident had successfully escaped the fire and retreated to the backyard while the second was still inside. Marysville police officers were able to get the second resident to safety and emergency personnel escorted them to a safer area to be treated by Marysville EMS. One resident was transported to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Due to the intensity of the fire, neighboring homes were evacuated. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation. Mill Park Drive will remain closed between Mill Road and Creekview Drive while the incident remains active.
