According to Plain City Police Department reports: Officers assisted a subject who had locked her keys in the vehicle with a young child inside at the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue at 2:16 p.m. Aug. 28. The officers were unable to unlock the vehicle using typical tools and ultimately broke a window to gain access due to the heat while the child was inside. Fairbanks’ varsity volleyball team went on the road and downed West Jefferson in three sets on Tuesday. Scores for the match were 25-20, 25-12, 25-13. United Way of Union County (UWUC) will kick-off its annual campaign with a food drive at UCO Industries, 16900 Square Drive, on Friday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are invited to drop off non-perishable food items. Marysville High School’s boys golfers placed fourth during Saturday’s Jim Denos Invitational in Norwalk. The Monarchs carded a score of 332 during the 18-team invitational. MHS found itself among the leaders of the tournament after the front nine and played steady throughout the hot and five-hour long match. Andrew Rabe of Marysville placed sixth overall as he led the team with a 78. Other Monarch scores were Myles Young-81 (tied for 10th), Colten Montgomery-84 and Nick Wever-89.
