The Marysville Senior Golf League announces the start of the 2021 season. Golfers meet at the Marysville Golf Club, 13683 38 on April 19 for sign-up at 8:30 a.m. There will b e a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Teams play a four-person, nine-hole scramble which is randomly drawn. There is a one time league which, includes a breakfast in July and steak dinner and prizes at October Roundup. New members are welcome.

Marysville Fire Department Chief Jay Riley said a barn in the 14000 block of U.S. 36, pictured above, caught flames after fire spread from a nearby brush burn. The mechanical barn was used to service agricultural equipment, including oil and fuel that temporarily fueled the flames. Riley said there were no injuries as a result of the incident. The announcement a week ago that Major League Baseball is moving its All-Star Game set for July 13 from Atlanta to Denver has created a storm of protest. The reason was not because of a COVID-19 danger or the poor quality of baseball facilities or the fear of unrest and ensuing riots. It was oddly because of the issue of voting in Georgia.
