The COVID-19 death toll in Union County again rose over the weekend. There have been eight deaths related to the virus in Union County as of Sunday, according to data from the Ohio Department of Health. The Union County Health Department indicated all deaths occurred in individuals 60 years of age or older. Four deaths occurred in individuals in the 60-69 age range, one in the 70-79 age range and three in individuals 80 or older. According to Marysville Police Department reports: Ashley Brooke Weaver, 34, of Grafton, West Virginia was cited for forgery in the 500 block of S. Maple Street at 6:40 a.m. Friday. Reports indicate the citation stemmed from a Nov. 18 incident in which Weaver allegedly cashed a forged check. Joseph Allen Chapman, 38, of Columbus was arrested for violating a protection order or consent agreement in the 1200 block of W. Fifth Street at 3:28 p.m. Friday. Memorial Health has announced it will implement a change to the organization’s visitor policies for all facilities, based on current medical guidance for COVID-19 spread conditions. Beginning today, Memorial will not be allowing visitation within Memorial Health facilities, including Memorial Hospital, Memorial City Gate Medical Center and Memorial Urbana Medical Center, as well as all Memorial Medical Group practice locations. Exceptions will be made in the case of maternity patients, patients under the age of 18, end-of-life situations, and patients with disabilities. Driver avoids injury Both the driver and train engineer were injury-free after a Thursday afternoon accident in which a train struck a semi-truck. Chief Deputy Tom Morgan said the driver of a 2001 Sterling semi-truck, Nicholas C. Rea, 24, of Raymond was traveling northeast on Morse Road. Rea reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign at the Morse Road railroad crossing. Morgan noted that this train intersection does not have flashing lights or gates. George A. Beeson and Phyllis J. Beeson are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple said God blessed them with their marriage on Nov. 23, 1950 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Dayton. They have four children, Barb (Beeson) Hobbs of Marysville, Cathy Beeson of Richwood, Christine Beeson of Lakeland, Florida and Daniel J. Beeson. They also have 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
