Phil Wolford of Garden of Eden Landscaping works to plant trees along West Fifth Street in Marysville. The city has purchased 113 trees to be planted along the newly improved street. This tree, a Carpinus Caroliniana, also known as an American hornbeam, a blue-beech and a musclewood is a small hardwood tree. Wolford said the tree, like all the trees selected to be planted along the street is native to the region and is narrowing growing. Now that customer golf season is over, publisher Kevin Behrens is making his move toward the top of the Pigskin Pickers. He posted the only winning record during a small slate of games with a 4-1 record last week. Behrens and managing editor Chad Williamson (2-3) are now tied at the top with records of 63-18. Paving work on East Sixth Street should be complete this week. Earlier this year, city officials replaced the water main from Plum to Cherry streets. The improvements will help prevent future breaks common with aging cast iron water mains. This project is part of an ongoing effort to replace cast iron mains throughout the city in an effort to provide uninterrupted water service to customers.
