A pair of local soccer teams earned district runner-up honors during competition on Saturday. The Fairbanks boys, who were the No. 4 seed in Division III, lost to No. 3 Columbus Academy, 3-1. The second-seeded Lady Pioneers of Jonathan Alder fell to No. 1 Granville by a 7-0 count. Jeremy Ziegler tallied the lone goal for Fairbanks as the team finished the 2020 season with a 13-3-3 record. A Richwood man is dead following a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday morning. The Delaware Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a one-vehicle fatal crash on Route 37 near mile post 3 in Scioto Township, Delaware County at 3:17 a.m. Thursday, according to a report from Lieutenant E. A. Caudill. Reports indicate Anthony D. Yates, 37, of Richwood was operating a silver 2002 Honda motorcycle westbound on Route 37 when he “failed to maintain reasonable control.” Yates then reportedly traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a road sign and a ditch.…

The Marysville Junior Baseball-Softball Association hosted an 8U fall All-Star baseball game Friday evening. Marysville’s All-Stars defeated Urbana’s All-Stars during the game that was played at the Union County Joint Recreation District Complex. Marysville won the game by a score of 24-15. Memorial Health will soon have a new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Jason Russell, DO, will officially take the reins as Chief Medical Officer of Memorial Health on Nov. 2. Named to the position this summer, Russell succeeds Dr. Victor Trianfo, who is retiring after 21 years with Memorial and over 42 years in the healthcare field.
