Look out Picker Nation… Sam Dillon is on the move! The Journal-Tribune sports reporter rolled past the rest of the Pickers this past week with a perfect 9-0 record. He was the only regular Picker who chose North Union to upset top-seeded Findlay Liberty-Benton in the Division V state playoffs. Dillon’s season record is now 53-17. The 2020 season came to an end for Fairbanks High School’s volleyball team on Wednesday. The 10th seeded Lady Panthers were swept at No. 2 Johnstown Northridge. Game scores were 15-25, 18-25, 14-25. Donald and Priscilla McCoy are celebrating their 65th anniversary. The couple was married Oct. 29, 1955 in Bancroft, West Virginia by the Rev. Cecil Rogers. Jerome Township Fire Chief Douglas Stewart is hosting several fire levy town hall meetings before Election Day, Nov. 3. North Union High School recently held its coronavirus-adjusted homecoming festivities during the week prior to the Oct. 16 game, including a reverse homecoming parade on Oct. 14. Coronavirus guidelines made it impossible to hold traditional ceremonies prior to the football game, so a special ceremony was held for parents on the football field earlier in the week.
