Fairbanks’ girls soccer team (7-5) edged Worthington Christian on Saturday. The Lady Panthers’ goal came from Ellie Carter. Madi Cook finished with 13 saves in the net. The Lady Panthers will host West Jefferson on Thursday. — Panthers tie FHS boys tied with Pickerington Central 2-2 on Saturday. Sam Keller and Diego Shaw tallied goals as the Panthers improved to 7-1-3. Greg Dean finished with eight saves for the Panthers. Fairbanks will play at Olentangy Berlin Tuesday.

Recently, a committee of community business people recognized 17 students from Union County who have demonstrated authentic, servant leadership for the Le Herron Rising Leader Award. Three Marysville students were among those honored. Sean Richardson as named as a semifinalist, scoring in the top 16,000 out of nearly 1.5 million students who took the PSAT. This puts him in the top 1% of all students in the country. He will now be competing for about 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million dollars next spring.
