According to Marysville Police Department reports: Patrick Thimmes, 41, of Junction City was cited for aggravated menacing in the 300 block of Allenby Drive at 11:23 p.m. Monday. Reports indicate the citation stemmed from an incident at White Castle. Police responded to a report of forgery in the 15000 block of U.S. 36 at 11:01 a.m. Monday. A memorial service celebrating the life of Melanie Tharp Behrens, 74, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at First English Lutheran Church, 687 London Ave. (St. Rt. 38), in Marysville. She died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Riverside Hospital following a three-month battle with cancer, but the memorial service was unable to be scheduled at that time due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Fairbanks boys soccer team opened its season with a 9-0 win at home over Madison Plains last week. The potent and experienced Panther offense struck early with its first goal before the first minute of the clock had passed. The Eagles’ offense struggled to break through the Panther defensive line with only two shots on goal. Those offerings were blocked by FHS keepers Greg Dean and Eli Thrush. Marysville’s varsity boys golf team tied for third place during Saturday’s 20-team Pickerington North Invitational at Pine Hill Golf Club. The Monarchs shot their best team score in several years with a 322. They tied with Columbus St. Charles. Caden Fulkerson led MHS with a 77. Finding substitute teachers is always challenging, but the virus has forced districts to get creative Aside from health concerns, the COVID-19 pandemic is amplifying an issue many districts already struggled with: finding substitute teachers.
