Jonathan Alder’s girls soccer squad opened the 2020 season on Tuesday. The Lady Pioneers cruised to a 4-0 triumph over Madison Plains. Alder’s defense held the Golden Eagles in check. Madison Plains had no shots on goal. Ashley Warren and Sophie Schaefer split time in the net for Alder. Lady Pioneer goals came from Makena Crownover, Emma Hicks, Madison Ice and Emily Piccolantonio.

Teachers and staff at schools around Union County were prepared to meet students today for their first day of school. The break from classes was extra-long this year as the COVID-19 pandemic caused districts in March to close their doors and move to on-line learning.
