Officials from the Marysville Exempted Village School District responded to a possible threat made against the high school. Officials said that Thursday afternoon, a student at Marysville High School recorded a conversation between two other students. A parent contacted school officials Thursday evening to make them aware of the conversation. Officials said the conversation “possibly involved making threatening statements about the school.” Marysville High School principal Tom Cochran said that once administrators were made aware of the apparent threat, “we immediately executed our safety plan.” “We worked in collaboration with the Marysville Police Department and our school resource officer in…

Margie Hileman, 88, of Marysville died Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gables following an extended illness. She formerly worked on the line at the Abbott’s Company in Prospect for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to yard sales, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. She was born on Dec. 26, 1930 in Mouth of Laurel, Kentucky to the late Ferguson and Minnie (Wilburn) Lewis. On Dec. 26, 1952 she married Emerson Dennis Hileman in Vanceburg, Kentucky. The streets of Uptown Marysville will be lined tomorrow for the 39th annual FestiFair Arts and Crafts Festival. During the Labor Day holiday, Union County officials are working to keep drunk drivers off the roads. The Union County Safe and Sound Coalition, which includes a variety of local agencies, works to prevent pedestrian and traffic injuries and deaths within the county.
