An octogenarian man could be facing life in prison without parole after allegedly raping a pair of children. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Garry L. Giles, 81, of 25071 Storms Rd., West Mansfield, charged with three counts of rape, five counts of gross sexual imposition, two counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and one count of intimidation of a witness. According to court documents, between February 2019 and January 13, Giles allegedly repeatedly raped a pair of children, both under 10. Court documents indicate both girls were 5 or 6 years old when the alleged abuse began.…

Marysville was awakened to the sounds of snow plows and salt trucks Friday morning as the city got its first measureable snow of the season. Snow continued into the day with a winter weather advisory for the region until Saturday morning. The Marysville teacher, charged with assaulting another woman at a gymnastics practice, has been pulled from the classroom. Superintendent Diane Allen has placed Bethany J. Perdue, a teacher at the Early College High School, on administrative leave. According to a letter in Perdue’s file, the leave is “pending an investigation into misdemeanor assault charges that were filed against you after an incident on January 10, 2024.” Perdue, 36, of 15060 Payne Road has been charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault. A Marysville man has been indicted after allegedly driving a dirt bike the wrong direction and across traffic on U.S. 33, fleeing from police. A Union County Grand Jury has indicted Carl William Hook, 26, of 1213 Monteclair Court, charging him with one count each of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A Richwood man has been indicted, charged with allegedly assaulting his sister, sending her to the emergency room. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Trent Isaac Eickemeyer, 27, of 11210 Route 47, Richwood, charging him with one count each of domestic violence and strangulation. According to court documents, Eickemeyer and his sister were exchanging text messages about her car, a 2000 Honda Civic. Court documents indicate the woman had discussed the possibility of filing unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charges against Eickemeyer. With continued cold weather and snow predicted for the end of the week, residents are reminded that they are responsible for keeping their sidewalks free from snow and ice. Property owners are asked to shovel their sidewalks within 48 hours of snow to keep pedestrians safe. He is charged with cruelty to animals as well as lying to animal lovers who contributed to a variety of charities he was associated with. A Raymond woman has been indicted after allegedly attacking her juvenile son and disabled husband. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Lucinda Kay Stinemetz, 44, of 21962 Route 347. Stinemetz is charged with two counts of domestic violence. According to court documents, on Dec. 17, the Union County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Route 347 home on a report of domestic violence. Investigators determined Stinemetz punched both her husband and her son. A police investigation into an alleged assault video has led to a series of sex-related indictments for a Marysville man. A Union County Grand Jury has indicted Jason Matthew Boblitt, 19, of 690 Milford Avenue, Apt. 8B, charging him with one count each of sexual battery, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and gross sexual imposition. According to court documents, in August police learned of a video that showed an alleged assault. The video shows Boblitt allegedly being attacked.
