Triad’s junior high football season kicked off on Thursday with a 26-14 victory over Northeastern. Awsom Mitchell started the scoring for the Cardinals with a 67-yard interception return for a touchdown. Fairbanks’ girls soccer team scored the winning goal with less than two minutes to play in turning back Springfield Catholic Central, 2-1, on Thursday. The contest was deadlocked 0-0 at halftime.
