Mercadize Paver of Marysville will become a team member during a Team IMPACT “Draft Day” celebration at The Capital Center. She is one of 30,000 patients in the United States living with cystic fibrosis (CF), a disease predominantly diagnosed in children by the age of two. Clarence Burroughs, 79, of Bellefontaine, died Sept. 12, 2017, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center surrounded by his family. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. He then married his wife, Barbara Eubanks Burroughs, on Dec. 13, 1959. As a retired firefighter with the Lima Fire Department, he spent his retirement loving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He valued going to church and listening to his favorite hymns. Road construction on Scotts Lawn Road will have a “profound impact” on the attendees of the All Ohio Balloon Fest this August, Union County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Mike Justice said. Traffic coming from Columbus will be especially affected because the westbound exit onto Scotts Lawn Road will be closed. Traffic coming from that direction should exit onto U.S. 42 and take Industrial Parkway to Weaver Road, Justice said. Extra signs will be placed on U.S. 33 and U.S. 42 to navigate traffic. The Fairbanks Board of Education voted to have Memorial Hospital be its provider of drug testing for student athletes for the 2017-2018 school year. In May, a representative from Sports Safe Testing Service, Inc. presented the company’s bid to be able to administer drug testing to Fairbanks High School’s athletes. However, Superintendent Bob Humble said, out of the two companies to submit bids, Memorial was willing to match whatever Sports Safe’s was offering. Marysville native Stephen Gangluff is tied for 38th with a 3-under 68.
