Jonathan Alder’s boys hoopsters took it on the chin against Springfield Shawnee. The Pioneers slipped to 16-5 with a 50-46 setback on their home court. The contest was tied at 10-10 by the end of the first quarter. Alder (which will host Columbus St. Charles this evening) led by a 21-20 edge at the halftime turn. The Cardinals of Triad held Shekinah Christian to just seven points during the second quarter. The boys hoopsters upped their record to 8-12 with a 61-58 victory over the Flames. Shekinah held an 18-11 margin at the end of the first quarter. Triad, though, pulled out to a 26-25 edge by halftime. The Cardinals’ lead stood at 44-42 by the conclusion of the third period. Marysville High School has found an opponent to take the place of Upper Arlington on the boys basketball schedule. The Monarchs were originally slated to host the Golden Bears on Tuesday of this week. That game, however, was called off as MHS had to reschedule the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division game against Thomas Worthington. The Thomas Worthington contest was postponed from last Friday due to inclement weather. Marysville won’t play Upper Arlington due to the fact there were no compatible dates for both teams.
