The Cardinals won only once in 23 games during the 2020-21 campaign. They are now 1-0 for this season after their win over the Rockets. Triad’s girls varsity basketball squad lost a 58-23 verdict to Shawnee earlier this week. The setback dropped the Lady Cardinals’ record to 0-2. Shawnee jumped out to an 18-6 advantage by the end of the opening quarter. The Braves’ margin expanded to 30-15 by halftime. Shawnee took a 56-20 lead into the final eight minutes of play. The fourth quarter saw sparse offensive efforts from both teams as Triad tallied three points and the Braves notched two.
