Fairbanks’ boys golf team tied a school record during a triangular match victory on Monday. The Panthers carded a 149, which ties the school mark for a nine-hole team score. The record was first set in 2008. FHS (7-0 in the Ohio Heritage Conference) won the match as Southeastern finished with a 172 and Madison Plains shot a 259. The Bunsold eighth-grade football team recently opened its season with a 14-6 victory at Hilliard Weaver. The Monarchs finished with a balanced rushing attack. Waylon McDaniel led the way with 52 yards, while JJ Henry added 50. Corbin Wallace finished with 49 yards. Wallace and Henry both scored touchdowns. McDaniel tallied a two-point conversion. This is a big, big week for the Marysville High School football team. The Monarchs will finally be able to open the 2021 regular season. The campaign was supposed to have kicked off last Saturday afternoon with a home game against Cleveland Collinwood.
