Celebrations was the theme at the Monday night regular North Union School Board of Education meeting. North Union Elementary Principal Darlene Allison hosted a tour of the her school prior to the board meeting. May’s senior of the month is Jacob Nicol. Jacob is the son of Marty and Amy Nicol of Marysville. He has been involved in Football, Basketball, National Honor Society and FFA. The Jonathan Alder School District has named their new junior high principal. Ryan Malany was approved by the board of education on Monday during the district’s regular monthly meeting. Malany took over for the previous principal, Clint Hayes, who was recently named as the high school principal following previous principal, Michael Aurin’s decision to go to Dublin City Schools. Marysville Early College High School (ECHS) held its first Academic Signing Day this morning in the Marysville High School Auditorium. The program was designed as a counterpart to athletic college signing days which are held at high schools throughout the country. The Academic Signing Day recognized 50 graduating seniors who have been awarded $5,000 or more in scholarship offers.
