Every state controls its own election.
Some states allow early voting and require residents to register 30 days out, while others only allow you to cast your ballot on Election Day.
States such as Nevada even allow voters the opportunity to register that same day as voting.
With so many different states doing their own thing and mail-in ballots complicating the timing of when votes are cast, we think auditing the process, especially this year, is healthy.
Thus, we agree with President Donald Trump for challenging the results of the election. We also agreed with Trump for allowing President-elect Joe Biden access to the government funds so he can start the transfer process while the challenges are ongoing.
During those challenges, a few irregularities were found, but not enough to overturn the election. With that said, we also agree with Sen. Mitch McConnell who acknowledged Joe Biden as winning the election.
It may take Trump time to lick his wounds and come around to making a peaceful transfer of power,
However, Americans want the country to move forward. The other thing on the top on most taxpayers’ minds is a stimulus to get through this tough time.
Congress is working on a bill that will allow another round of PPP (Payroll Protection Program).
There could be additional funds for unemployment and help for front-line workers, as well as schools.
If Congress can agree on a package that will help taxpayers, that will leave time next year for politics.
So we say for the sake of the season as well as the country, move forward to get past the divide.
