The accounting and finance business classes at Marysville High School (MHS) recently participated in the Stock Market Game based out of Cincinnati.
Students worked together to create and manage a virtual investment portfolio of real world stocks, bonds and mutual funds and had $100,000 to invest.
Each team was responsible for researching and evaluating potential investments. Team members also had to efficiently come together on cooperative decisions on where to buy, sell, or hold the stocks, funds and bonds in the portfolio they created.
The portfolio was then ranked weekly with other high schools in Ohio on its success and the net value of its total equity. MHS usually resulted placing consistently in the top quarter amongst more than 400 teams that participated.
