Dozens gathered Friday in the city’s police and courts building to help celebrate Marysville Police Chief Floyd Golden’s last day on the force. Golden had been chief of police for 17 years and been in law enforcement for more than 50 years. As part of Golden’s retirement open house, many local and state officials presented him with gifts and commendations. One of the honors was to name Golden as an honorary fire chief for the city. Above, Marysville Fire Chief Jay Riley, left, presents Golden with a fire helmet to mark the occasion.
