A design fit for a pig

A sixth-grade class from Creekview Intermediate School led by Trisha Dearwester-Conley visited Northwood Elementary Friday afternoon to work with first graders as part of a yearly problem-solving challenge. This year’s challenge was called “Outsmarting the Big Bad Wolf,” which saw the students trying to make a shelter for a fourth little piggy that could withstand a strong gust of wind. Pictured above , from left to right, are sixth grader Blake Chatt and first graders Jonny McClelland, Mia Wilkerson and Kiefer Brock. Chatt is holding the “Big Bad Wolf,” which created a burst of air to test the strength of the houses.
