Eljer Park was alive with activity this morning as multiple groups and individuals took advantage of the sunny skies and seasonal temperatures. One group taking advantage of the park was Brenda Herron’s gym class from the Trinity Lutheran School. Third-grade students were in the park throwing softballs for distance. Above, Kase Owens launches a 149-foot throw. The throw turned out to be a new third-grade record for the school. Herron said Griffin Scheiderer held the record at 145 feet until this morning. She said she looked up the record because she felt confident Owens would come close to breaking it.
