Union County residents who are 80 and older will have another chance to receive the COVID-19 vaccine this week.
The local health department recently received an additional shipment of the vaccine. The extra doses leftover after first being given to EMS and healthcare workers will be used for individuals who are 80 and older.
Scheduling for appointments were to open this afternoon at www.UCHDclinic.org. Individuals without a computer or internet access should call (937) 642-2053 for help making an appointment.
Appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis. When all available doses are scheduled, the scheduler will close.
According to a statement from UCHD, “the timeframe for scheduling an appointment will be very condensed due to the quick turnaround for administering the vaccine that is being asked of our office” by the state.
UCHD will provide information weekly as to eligibility requirements and when the scheduler will open for upcoming clinics.
