Bluegrass performers The Kevin Prater Band, who have performed throughout the United States and Canada, will come to Union County on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Bunsold Middle School.
The performance is organized by the Union County Community Concert Association (UCCCA).
The quintet of vocalists and instrumentalists includes Gary Isenhour, guitar; Jake Burrows, banjo and dobro; Kevin Prater, mandolin; Mallory Hindman, fiddle; and Cole Spears, bass.
The performance features the group’s most popular and most requested recorded music.
Their most popular collection, Radio Roots Project, featured “All I Ever Wanted’ which finished at number 65 in the top 200, Worldwide Roots music charts. It is a true project of Pike County, Kentucky.
The Kevin Prater Band will play some time honored songs such as “Barefoot Country Girl” and “Coal-Fired Pure Kentucky Bluegrass.” All the band members contribute to the program vocally and with their unique sound.
This is Kevin Prater’s 15th year leading the band. It is acclaimed worldwide by for its traditional bluegrass and country music.
The audience will be treated to the band’s powerful musicianship, described as “A big old helping of traditional bluegrass, slab of classic county, a take of grassed up vintage rock, garnished with gospel.”
The group has a busy schedule this fall, performing throughout Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia.
