The Care Train of Union County aims to keep up its giving ways this holiday season.
Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., The Care Train of Union County will host its 13th annual Benefit Concert at the Marysville High School Auditorium. Admission to the concert is free, although donations will be accepted.
The Care Train of Union County is a charitable organization founded in 1987 by David Laslow. Since then, the Care Train has continued to lift up the community by providing toys and food vouchers to income-qualified children, families, senior citizens and disabled residents of Union County. The positive impact that Care Train brings to the community is made possible through the generosity of corporate partners, community businesses, churches, and the generous donations of individuals.
The growth of Care Train of Union County has been steady over the years. In 2018, Care Train provided 625 gifts to children, served 291 families, 357 senior citizens, 85 disabled adults, and distributed $201,900 in food vouchers.
“This isn’t about business. It’s about giving back to our community and teaching our children how to grow up giving.” Laslow often says.
