Comfort dog at conference

Melanie Cooley, right, of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, talks with Faith Rechel of Atonement Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church Charities, and pets Rosie the comfort dog. Rosie is a trained comfort dog, interacting with people at nursing homes, schools, hospitals, courtrooms and other difficult situations. Rosie was part of a presentation by Kate Wollenburg of the Union County Court of Common Pleas and Atonement Lutheran Church. Wollenburg was one of nearly a dozen speakers at Wednesday’s Ohio TRIAD conference, which brings together leaders in the senior community with law enforcement officials. This is the third year for the one-day, statewide event and the first time it has been held in Union County. This years event, held at the Government Services Building, was sponsored by Sheriff Jamie Patton and County Prosecutor David Phillips.
