All deaths of Union County residents have occurred in individuals in the 60-69 years age range.
The first death in a local resident was a male, reported on May 28. The second was a female of the same age range, reported on Sept. 11.
Following the first death, Union County Health Commissioner Jason Orcena said the county will continue to work toward preventing the loss of life to the coronavirus.
“The health department and our partners will continue to do all we can to slow the spread of the virus,” he said.
“Every person, every family, in Union County is important to us,” Orcena added.
According to information from the Ohio Department of Health, 685 Union County residents have tested positive, resulting in 27 hospitalizations and three deaths.
However, information from the Union County Health Department excludes cases among those living at the Ohio Reformatory for Women.
Without those who are incarcerated, UCHD reports that 462 individuals have been released from isolation and 52 are actively ill, as of Wednesday.
The number of individuals currently infectious is one of the highest numbers to date, according to the local health department.
