North Lewisburg Village Council handled a number of routine issues at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Mayor Cheryl Hollingsworth reported that the village has received a total of $153,460 in American Rescue Plan Act-Coronovirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds. The money has been isolated in the general fund and Village Administrator Andy Yoder will be developing a plan for spending the money.
Council also learned that the 2020 Census numbers show the village population at 1,636, up from 1,490 residents during the 2010 Census.
Leaf pick-up in the village will begin the week of Oct. 25 and will continue for roughly a month. Residents are reminder to keep leaf piles free of sticks, rocks and other yard waste.
A medication take-back event is planned at the village municipal building, 60 E. Maple St., on Oct. 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Residents may drop off unused or outdated medication for disposal.
Council members learned that the village fire hydrants will be flushed between Tuesday and Thursday of next week.
Council voted 6-0 to approved the North Lewisburg Police Department’s 400-page police policy manual.
