The Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities (UCBDD) held its annual organizational meeting this week, during which the recognition of a retiring board member and appointment of a new member took place.
Bruce Davis retired after serving a total of 18 years as a board member. He was first appointed by the Union County Commissioner in March of 1999. He then served the legal limit of twelve consecutive years on the board and was re-appointed in January, 2013.
Davis served his most recent term for the full four years and stepped off of the board in December.
“Bruce provided consistent leadership and direction as a board member including multiple years as Board President,” UCBDD Superintendent Kara Brown said. “His commitment to people with disabilities and focus on our youngest served has been unwavering. His presence will be greatly missed.”
Replacing Davis will be Scott Ansbach, a deputy with the Union County Sheriff’s Office. He was appointed to the board by Union County Probate Judge Charlotte Coleman Eufinger. He will be serving a four year term.
Ansbach joins a seven-person board that is responsible for governing the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the agency.
Board members Jenny Brill and Kim Zacharias were also reappointed for new terms by the Union County Commissioners.
