The west end of West Avenue in Plain City was closed this morning after a semi-truck went off the side of the street and jack-knifed. About 6:15 a.m., the truck driver was attempting to pull into the loading docks at the Der Dutchman restaurant. To get in, the driver went east on West Avenue, past the rear entrance of the parking lot, then attempted to back into the docks. Police officials said the driver took the reverse turn too wide and went off the side of the road. Officials said because the truck was off the road and crushed the pavement, a lift would be required to elevate the truck so it could be moved.
