Marysville Elks Lodge #1130 recently used money from the Ohio Elks Association Community Service Grant to purchase a Portable Scene Light and Plastic Face Shields for the Marysville Police Department. Chief Floyd Golden said having this light will be useful when officers need to illuminate a crash or crime scene. The facemasks will be used as PPE for the officers. The purpose of the Community Service grant is to aid in the acquisition of equipment by a municipality, police department or fire department, which it would not otherwise be able to purchase. To date, through the Community Service Grants, the Marysville lodge has distributed nearly $8,000 back into Union County to assist various community agencies.
