Students from Shekinah Christian School’s seventh and eighth grade classes were at Plain City’s Pasttime Park recently to plant flowers and generally clean-up in the park. The project was part of the school’s annual Community Impact Day which comes at the conclusion of its Spiritual Emphasis Week. School officials said it is important for students to go into the community and help those that help others. While some students were at Pastime Park, others were involved with projects at Marysvill’e Hope Center, the Plain City Food Pantry and Daily Needs Assistance facility, London’s Help House and West Jefferson’s Suffecient Grace program. Officials said the Community Impact Day is one way the school works toward its mission of “inspiring students to be engaged lifelong learners who glorify Jesus Christ while impacting their communities.”
