The Fairbanks High School 2019 Mock Trial Companions team will compete at the state competition beginning today at the Franklin County Courthouse. Nearly 30 teams will compete in the event, which continues Friday and concludes Saturday with finals at the Ohio Statehouse. Guided by teachers and volunteer legal advisors, students participate in a simulated trial written by attorneys. Fairbanks advanced through district and regional competitions in which students argue both sides of a case in real courtrooms. Members of the team pictured above are, from left to right, in the front row, Katelyn Harris, Leanne Rhoades, Claire Ruff, Kate White, William Findley, Rachel Scott and Aubrey Tillman, and in the back, Mitch Krouse.
