Several local fire departments responded to a garage fire that spread through a residence early Monday morning.
Jerome Township Division of Fire Chief Douglas Stewart said crews were dispatched to a reported garage fire at 9825 Warner Road at 12:22 a.m. today.
He said the garage was attached to the house. The fire had “significant advancement” into the attic upon arrival of crews.
“Unfortunately, there is significant damage to the entire house,” Stewart said.
All occupants were able to evacuate the house safely and there were no injuries to the homeowners or firefighters, according to Stewart.
He said the cause of the fire is currently being investigated. Crews remained on the scene throughout the night to check for hot spots and secure the structure.
The Jerome Township Division of Fire was assisted by Washington Township Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Joint Fire District, Marysville Fire Department, Concord Township Fire Department, Allen Township Fire Department, Union Township Fire Department, Scioto Township Fire Department, Delaware County EMS, Union County Emergency Management Agency and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
