United Way of Union held a food drive for its recent kick-off its annual campaign at UCO Industries. This year’s goal is $1,000,052 to emphasize the campaign theme “$52 in ‘22” encouraging every Union County resident to donate $1 a week to help UWUC’s 29 local partner agencies dedicated to providing programming to ensure economic stability, access to health, childhood/youth success and senior engagement. More than 20 local businesses and organizations donated non-perishables to help fill the shelves of local food pantries. About 1,500 pounds of food was collected and distributed to the Richwood REAP pantry, The Milford Center Food Pantry, and The Hope Center. Donations were weighed and UCO Industries won the friendly competition of most pounds of food collected with a total of 219 pounds.
