Just days after being sentenced to community control for a drug offense, a Marysville man was arrested for drugs.
The Union County Grand Jury recently indicted Edward Paver, 32, of 12179 U.S. 36, Marysville, charging him with two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, along with one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, having weapons under disability and tampering with evidence.
Union County Prosecutor Dave Phillips said that in November, Paver was sentenced to five years of community control on a drug conviction.
According to court documents, on Jan. 3, investigators allegedly purchased methamphetamine from him.
On June 25, Paver tested positive for methamphetamines and admitted using them. His community control was continued.
On July 28, Paver did not make scheduled contact his probation officer about a drug screening.
On Aug. 4, community control officials went to Paver’s home. There they allegedly found a gun, drug paraphernalia as well as what court documents call “a bulk amount of methamphetamine.”
Paver tested positive and admitted to using the drugs.
Phillips said Paver allegedly had more than 13.4 grams of methamphetamine.
“That is a significant amount of meth,” Phillips said, noting that most people possess less than 1 gram of meth.”
In addition to the drugs, investigators found a 9 mm handgun. Phillips said that as part of the man’s probation, Paver is not allowed to have or use a gun.
If convicted, Paver could face more than 21 years in prison. Additionally, Paver could have his probation revoked and be incarcerated for prior convictions.
Also indicted was:
– Jermaine Lavare Daniel, 19, of Lima. Daniel is charged with one count each of carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a firearm and receiving stolen property.
On Aug. 9, deputies from the Union County Sheriff’s Office stopped Daniel on U.S. 33. They reported smelling marijuana in the car. When the deputies asked Daniel to step out of the car, he was seen “reaching toward his waist.”
Daniel was asked if he had any weapons and he said he didn’t.
“Deputy Garrison conducted a pat down on Mr. Daniel after his consent,” according to court documents. “Deputy Garrison felt a firearm in Mr. Daniel’s pants and on his left leg.”
Daniel told investigators he got the gun, a Glock 9 mm, from Indianapolis and it belonged to a family member. He later said he was returning the gun to Columbus because it had been stolen. A check of law enforcement data bases revealed the gun had been stolen from Lima.
If convicted on all counts, Daniel could face more than four years in prison.

Larkins is charged with three counts of assault, stemming from an incident April 10 in the prison when she allegedly attacked three prison employees. Phillips said the driver was allegedly going more than 100 miles per hour without the lights. The man went through a construction zone.
At some point, due to the dangerous conditions, the pursuit was called off in Delaware County. Shortly after, the car was involved in a crash on Johnson Road in Delaware County and the driver fled on foot.
“The deputy identified Mr. Deel as having been the driver of the vehicle,” Phillips said.
If convicted, Deel could face as many as five years in prison.

According to court documents, on July 14, the pair went to a local store together. Phillips said at least one of the women had been given notice by the store that while most people are allowed in the store, she was not because of her prior behavior.
Phillips said each woman got a cart and filled it with merchandise. He said at some point, Holzen abandoned her cart, but Albrektonson, apparently with Holzen’s help, attempted to leave the store with about $500 of merchandise. As the woman left, an elderly store employee tried to stop her and tell her to pay.
“She (Albrektonson) ended up pushing her to the ground,” Phillips said.
Once outside the store, Albrektonson and Holzen fled in the same van they came in.
If convicted, each woman could face more than 13 years in prison.
