Local fire departments responded to the scene of a residence fire early this morning.
According to Jerome Township Division of Fire Chief Douglas Stewart, crews were dispatched to a reported house fire at 7841 Mitchell Dewitt Road at 12:15 a.m. Monday.
When crews arrived, Stewart said there was “heavy fire” from the back of the house, in the area of the attic.
Stewart said all occupants were out of the house upon arrival of crews. There were no injuries to the homeowners or firefighters at the scene.
He said the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, but is currently considered accidental.
Jerome Township Division of Fire was assisted by Washington Township Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Joint Fire District, Marysville Fire Department, Scioto Township Fire Department, Concord Township Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department, Delaware County EMS, Union County Emergency Management Agency and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
