The Boy Scouts of America (Scouts BSA) recently conferred their highest rank of Eagle Scout to Keith Prinster of Marysville.
Prinster is a member of Troop 634 of Marysville and is also currently a member of their Venture Crew.
For his Eagle Scout project, Prinster chose a conservation project: to construct a Chimney Swift Tower at the Keckley Rural Life Center near Raymond.
The Chimney Swift is a threatened species of bird that uses hollow trees and old chimneys for nesting and roosting. The tower is designed to mimic an open-top chimney, a feature that is becoming obsolete in modern construction.
Prinster said many local companies offered donations to the project.
He said he appreciates the Liberty Township Trustees and all the volunteers and fellow Boy Scouts who provided labor and guidance to make the project possible.
Prinster is a May 2019 graduate of Marysville Early College High School where he was a four year member of the Marching Band.
He has enjoyed working summers as a counselor at the Chief Logan Boy Scout Camp and is currently attending Bowling Green State University.
