A Marysville woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Logan County.
Vickie L. Poling, 54, of 212 Chestnut St., was pronounced dead Monday on a Bellefontaine Fire and EMS squad.
Poling was being taken to Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
According to a report from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, about 7:21 p.m., Monday, Poling was driving her 1997 Honda CR-V east on Logan County Road 10, near Bellefontaine. As she neared 1662 County Road 10, she apparently lost control of the vehicle as she was taking a curve. Poling’s vehicle spun counter-clockwise, across the center line and into the opposite lane.
Sandra A. Kirkpatrick, 37, of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2014 Chevy Suburban west on the road. As Poling’s car spun into the other lane, Kirkpatrick hit it in the front passenger side.
Kirkpatrick and two passengers, both minors of Bellefontaine, were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor or possible injuries.
The crash report indicates that Poling’s speed at the time of the crash is unknown, but Kirkpatrick was driving below the speed limit.
According to the report, Poling was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Kirkpatrick and her passengers were wearing their seat belts.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as factors in the crash. Damage was heavy to both vehicles.
This is the fourth fatal crash in Logan County this year.
