Mixer theft leads to suspect being Tasered

Officers used a Taser on a man who stole a $229 Kitchen Aid mixer from Wal-Mart Wednesday afternoon.
According to Marysville Deputy Chief Tony Brooks, officers responded to the call at about 3:46 p.m. The suspect, Nicholas J. Monnin, 26, of Broadway, attempted to elude police by running out behind the building and hiding behind a dumpster.
Officers found him and deployed a Taser after Monnin resisted arrest. Brooks said the man is a known drug user and had open sores on his body.
“We were able to eventually get him under control,” Brooks said.
Monnin was arrested for theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
He was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
