The Ohio Department of Education named Monroe Elementary School a 2019 High Progress School of Honor based on the school’s 2018-2019 Ohio School Report Card measures on English language arts and math performance. Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria said the school ranked in the 90th percentile or higher of statewide gains, with 40% or more economically disadvantaged students. “You’ve shown that administrators, teachers and families who have high expectations and consistently support their students can enable children from every background to achieve academically,” DeMaria said.
