The Union County Grand Jury has filed additional charges against members of an alleged drug manufacturing and sale ring.
In January, the Union County Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement (MADE) Task Force raided a home at 21378 Titus Road in Raymond. Several individuals were charged with drug and probation-related charges at that time. In March, the grand jury made additional indictments. Recently, the grand jury expanded the list of charges and defendants.
“Law enforcement had a significant amount of data to go through following that raid,” Union County Prosecutor Dave Phillips said. “Based on the information gathered through that data, the grand jury felt the additional charges were warranted and appropriate.
The following are additional charges from the recent grand jury:
– Robert Charles Lane, 29, of 214 N. Maple St., Marysville. Lane is charged with 20 counts of corrupting another with drugs. If convicted on all counts, Lane could face as many as 160 years in prison.
– Heather Nicole Carpenter, 37, whose court-listed address is the Tri-County Regional Jail. Carpenter is charged with two counts of endangering children. If convicted, Carpenter could face more than six years in prison.
– Alyssa M. Carver, 25, of the Buckeye House, 322 W. Ninth St., Marysville. Carver is charged with one count of corrupting another with drugs. If convicted, Carver could face as many as eight years in prison.
– Cheyenne Lou Reisinger, 21, of 101 Oak Hill Ave., Delaware. Reisinger is charged with three counts of corrupting another with drugs. Earlier this month, Carpenter was found guilty of a separate charge of child endangering. If convicted, she could face as many as 24 years in prison.
– Samantha K. Righter, 31, of 305 Maple St., Plain City. Righter is charged with two counts of corrupting another with drugs. Righter could face as many as 16 years in prison if convicted.
– Kenneth E. Czarnecki, 50, of 117 ½ E. Fifth St., Marysville. Czarnecki is charged with one count of corrupting another with drugs. He could face as many as eight years in prison if convicted.
Phillips said corrupting another with drugs is more than just handing someone drugs. He said it is actively helping them administer the drug, with the intent of causing them harm of creating an addiction.
Law enforcement officials said the group was running “a major operation” for the manufacture and sale of drugs from the home.
“The additional charges are important to understand the depth of what was going on at that location,” Phillips said.
Investigators said last year, law enforcement was called to the Super 8 motel in Marysville, where they found methamphetamine and other things in the motel rooms.
Phillips said that investigation branched out and led them to other possible drug investigations, including one into the Titus Road home and residents.
At 7:43 a.m., Jan. 11, police raided the Titus Road home. Inside the home, investigators found three individuals on the first floor and another nine in the basement. They also found drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia, a drug ledger, a safe with cash, equipment to manufacture and distribute drugs and a variety of weapons.
Law enforcement officials said the investigation included heroin, methamphetamines, cocaine, “every type of drug.”
Investigators also seized video equipment, used as security for the home. Video footage showed several individuals giving drugs to others. Additionally, investigators believe there were times when Carpenter had her child with her at the Titus Road home.
Investigators determined inside the home, the occupants were making or distributing meth, cocaine and crack cocaine.
They also learned that an alleged chop shop, allegedly taking parts from cars, destroying the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the part and selling them, was being run from the home.
Phillips said Lane was the leader of the group.
“The allegation is this was a drug house and they were all becoming drug dependent based on Mr. Lane’s actions,” Phillips said.
