As if this morning, Marysville authorities are still waiting for fingerprint results from Montgomery County to identify a man found dead in a truck Monday.
Monday at 8:39 a.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the Holiday Inn Express on Allenby Drive. According to Union County Coroner Investigator Lance Emberling, there were reports of a smell coming from the vehicle.
When police arrived, they found a man dead inside the truck. Emberling said the body had already begun decomposing, and estimated it had been there “three or four days.”
Rather than remove the man at the scene, authorities transported the vehicle to the Union County Emergency Management Agency building on Northwest Parkway take the body out.
The body was sent to the Montgomery County Coroner for identification.
Emberling said he expects to hear back later this afternoon.
He said Montgomery County may have to go by dental records if the body proves too decomposed to gather fingerprints.
